Recticel has focused increasingly in recent years on recycling polyurethane foam, which has led to the development of a wide range of different products. It is a challenge to find environmentally-friendly ways of processing trim foam, an inevitable result of the slabstock cutting process. These foam off-cuts are ground into small flocks before being mixed with a binder. If required, some additives or alternative raw materials can be added. Once the compound is ready, we have the option to process it in a special shaped mould or compress it into a block, which in turn can be re-cut. The Composite Foams Business Unit supervises the development, manufacturing and international marketing of these bonded foam products. The division externally focuses on flooring, shoe comfort, packaging, automotive, sports, agriculture and acoustic applications and internally provides the other Recticel business lines with bonded foam products.
